PLUM

  • Plum is prunus genus and rosaceae family.
  • Plum tree can grow up to 12 meters in height and spread across 10 meters.
  • Medium size of Plum is between 1 to 3 inch diameter with single seed inside.
  • According to taxonomy, there is 19 to 40 species of Plum exists.
  • Plum fruit ranges from sweet to tart; it's skin particularly tart.
  • Plum juice can be fermented to make Plum wine.
  • Plum also used as dried.
  • Plum seed is toxic. They contains cyanogenic glycosides, including amygdalin.
  • Prune kernel oil is made from the fleshy inner part of the pit of the Plum.
  • China is the world's largest Plum producer, second is Serbia and third is USA.
